All the threads/ post related to the "new" site are going to be saved in a non public place but deleted from the public pages tonight

What we have is several threads where only parts of the story are coming out .
First read the entire damn site before you jump to conclusions.

I will not censor you, (I am now the admin)
I will suggest to you, as I did, that we take another approach at this site.

I will not delete the site. That wont happen, I may disappear for ever now, with this crap being tossed at each other, but the site will stay.

this site is not a gov op

No members here are gov ops that I know

Create a group, make it private and invite who ever you damn well please. Also feel free to make rules for your group. That is the right way to approach this.

The shame with private groups and ning sites like Thom's is they will not be read by non members looking for information. They will not be found thru google searches.

This is important to me, but not the the no1 issue.

Please bring your thoughts to this discussion, one place where we can iron this out.

K,so I take it you don't know what happened to the old site either? If you will notice Ive been quite positive about all this though it does piss me off greatly bu then what doesn't piss me off right?lol.

Oh by the way I never thought the government was involved though I wouldn't be surprised if ning was.

How to survive a social network

One problem with social networks is "text" is much different a way to comunicate then face to face so people are misread misunderstood because communication is limited People have a tendency to circle the wagons when they feel threatened or offended.

I am telling you that in every circumstance, doing that will kill your site, group, network, or profile. Its like that at work to isnt it? Managers are always trying to bust up clicks because its bad for productivity and buisnes.

Sometimes when someones bothering you you just have to ignore them. They'll get the hint. If they're a true asshole they'll keep talking shit and everyone will know theyre an asshole and no one will talk to them. Just like at work lol.

At some point you might even become the least common multiple everyone uses as a receptacle to rally around. If it really bothers you walk away for a while or just stop addressing people who annoy you.

Also it is YOUR site James and you can fire anyone you want which you haf to do sometimes too, and you don't even need to explain yourself to anyone.

I can't help but have concern on this while I see how Ed could have . . pushed the wrong button or maybe it was necessary to push the stop button, life is so complex sometimes.

I feel the new king will do a good job.

i Dont think Ning social networks belong to anyone other than ning whom owns the servers and the domain name. 12.160 shouldn't be owned by some one only kept up. People are only fighting on here for one main reason censorship .... not in the classic form but in a nuclear form of deleting an entire site, people are going to be mad about losing time effort and work. If they where not there would most assuredly be something wrong with this "freedom group" If theres ever a serious serious problem on here bring it to the attention of the group and we will handle it. Dictatorships online are a form 'digital tyranny©' I like that terminology because it explains it perfectly. I don't want a democracy just a common agreement on things by enough people so that its not a dictatorship.

Understood but I have never felt that I had the right to live in a world where nothing exists which offends me and have to laugh my ass off at anyone who does. Those sorts should be the ones to leave and find themselves a deserted island to live on where they need never risk being offended again and can have any right they choose to make up for themselves whatsoever. Free, alone, and bound only by cages they have made for themselves in the form of a closed mind.

Life is messy, chaotic, and offensive especially when dealing with other people. Deal with it.
