Agorism is revolutionary market anarchism.

In a market anarchist society, law and security would be provided by market actors instead of political institutions. Agorists recognize that situation can not develop through political reform. Instead, it will arise as a result of market processes.

As the state is banditry, revolution culminates in the suppression of the criminal state by market providers of security and law. Market demand for such service providers is what will lead to their emergence. Development of that demand will come from economic growth in the sector of the economy that explicitly shuns state involvement (and thus can not turn to the state in its role as monopoly provider of security and law). That sector of the economy is the counter-economy – black and grey markets.

Big four bank bosses pocket $35 million in pay
17/11/2009 8:00:00 AM

By Stuart Fagg, ninemsn Money

The chief executives of Australia's big four banks were paid $35 million in salaries last year.

The highest earning was Mike Smith, CEO of ANZ bank, who took home $10.9 million while Westpac's Gail Kelly - Australia's highest-paid female CEO - was paid $10.6 milion.

Ralph Norris, CEO at Commmonwealth Bank of Australia, meanwhile, earned $9.21 million.

Rounding out the top four was Cameron Clyne, the relatively new CEO of National Australia Bank, who was paid $5.2 million, a 76 percent rise on his previous salary.

Details of the CEOs' packages were revealed in NAB and ANZ's annual reports, released yesterday.

Mr Clyne's more experienced predecessor John Stewart pocketed $8.513 million in total remuneration last year.

Mr Clyne took over the top job at NAB from Mr Stewart on January 1 this year.

Mr Smith, who remains Australia's highest paid bank CEO, maintained his position despite taking a pay cut

The bank's annual report, released yesterday, showed Mr Smith's total remuneration for the 12 months to September 30 was valued at $10.935 million, down from $12.963 million in the previous year.

Meanwhile, the major banks are expected to charge customers $4.5 billion in fees this year, according to InfoChoice.

That's despite the recent axing of a number of fees including those charges to customers who overdraw on their accounts.

"The irony of recent downsizing in exception fees is that customers doing the right thing receive no reward, as in most cases they would have avoided these fees anyway," said InfoChoice CEO Shaun Cornelius.

"Australians face a large and complex web of bank fees, with more than double the e fee categories than the UK. What’s worse, many bank customers do not even know that these charges exist, or are unaware that they apply to them."

Reserve Bank of Australia analysis found that Australia's banks charged households $4.8 billion in fees in 2008.

I was probably a bit simplistic and loose with the use of the word consent, no I do not consent and I express that. I can not force my beliefs on everyone else though and that is my point, a majority still do consent. It may be through ignorance, apathy, or just silence, but none the less, the consent is there.

Living in a free world may be an illusion but it is one that even leaderships of so called “democracies” have to play along with when it comes to a time of crisis. If an angry majority who won’t take no for an answer encircles a government with a demand, they have no option but to comply. Sure they will try every dirty trick under the sun to influence, intimidate, coerce or outright force the population inline with their policy but in the end, no means no, they can not govern without consent.

I will check out the links Tweek, we need viable alternatives ready if we are to rearrange social structure as we know it, but the core starting point will always be that there has to be consent, support from the masses for any action.

I more or less agreed with what you said Fred except I do not propose we replace government with anything and also-
"Government can only govern with the consent of the governed."
Are you consenting? Most of the governed are to stupid to consent,Government Rules by Gun point not through consent.

The black market is the main tool I am going to use to stop the government and I HOPE you all do the same. In the mean time take advantage of the free book downloads above and educate yourself about WHY the political process doesn't work and what you can do to stop government with out trying to become it.

It is not government that makes bankers rich, well it is but it is not. Government is a dirty word and perhaps we could think of a different name for that as well but remember Government can only govern with the consent of the governed.

Government may be a tool of the bankers but it is the people who give power to bankers by giving their consent. Most people can’t be bothered taking responsibility, educating themselves to know how they are being screwed; they would rather just let someone else be responsible.

When we have enough united people who are willing to demand that their taxes stop paying debt to the Fed or Central Bank and demand Government become the issuer of money that is debt free, that is when that big inbred family known as the “elites” will lose all power.

I would agree that Government could be reinvented though. I personally believe that if someone wants to govern, they should probably not be allowed to. Perhaps we could make government a bit like jury duty or something.

In the meantime, before critical mass is achieved with enough educated people who give a dam, standing united in non compliance, I think acting small and locally bit by bit is a good start. Reject consumerism where ever possible, particularly when it involves global corporations. Buy only what you essentially need and buy it local; grow your own foods where possible, join or establish community gardens, food co-ops. Keep your money away from banks as much as possible, eliminating credit debts will starve the bankers of profit.

Black markets also sound like a fine idea. I think it is important to realize though there is no magic solution, the solution is probably a combination of many actions but above all, it is about claiming personal responsibility.
