Cynthia McKinney and Free Gaza to return to Gaza for another humanitarian mission

Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney and Free Gaza Movement are attempting a dangerous humanitarian mission from Cyprus to Gaza to deliver fifteen tons of cement and medicinal supplies to aid the Gazans who are still suffering from the thirty-one day murderous rampage by the barbarous Israeli Defense Force. You may recall that the Israeli Navy attacted the humanitarian ship on their last attempt to deliver aid. McKinney and Caoimhe Butterly from the Free Gaza Movement were interviewed on June 25, 2009 by Ognir from The Information Underground and Daryl Bradford Smith from I Am The Witness.

Michael Rivero of What Really Happened had McKinney on for a brief segment to issue a call to contact the White House and members of Congress to have them back the official US position instead of the Israeli-Zionist position with regards to humanitarian aid for people of Gaza.

Ha'aretz has reported on the government of Cyprus' attempts to halt the humanitarian efforts, but the activists allege Israeli involvement in the obstruction of the vessel's launch.

Cyprus' Merchant Shipping Department on Thursday prevented international activists from sailing for Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid in violation of the Israeli-led blockade of the Palestinian territory. Sergiou could not explain why the vessels were previously allowed to leave Cyprus.
Free Gaza spokeswoman Greta Berlin said she was absolutely outraged, but that activists would not be deterred.

Around 32 people including a former U.S. congresswoman and an Irish Nobel
laureate were to sail to Gaza to deliver 3 tons of medical supplies and 15
tons of cement.

It has only been a little more than six months since the Israeli siege on Gaza and myself, along with many others are saddened to see that there is very little talk about it any more. Even those in the alternative media have simply tossed the entire issue down the memory hole.
